My Story of How Traditional Doctors Made Me Relocate From Kisii to Karen, Nairobi

When my parents died in a road accident in 2015, my world crumbled in ways I cannot fully describe. I was still young, full of dreams, but that tragedy snatched everything from me.

Relatives who I thought would step in turned their backs on me. I was treated like an outcast. I remember days when I would knock on their doors just for food, only to be insulted and chased away.

With no one to hold my hand, I ended up in the streets. Life became a fight for survival. Sometimes I would sleep on cold verandahs, other nights I would share space with other homeless boys under makeshift shelters. I survived by doing odd jobs, mostly offloading goods at the Kisii town bus park. The pay was small but it kept me alive.

I saved bit by bit until I managed to buy a small neon kicka phone. That tiny gadget became my only window to the outside world. I joined social media, not knowing that one day it would change my life. I would scroll aimlessly, just to distract myself from the pain I was living in.

One evening, while sitting near the Kisii stage, tired and hopeless, I stumbled on an advert about Shaba Mangube Doctors. At first, I ignored it. I had always heard people say these things were fake.

But something in me told me to save their number. Days later, when my frustrations piled up and the voice of poverty was louder than anything else, I finally decided to call.

I still remember the words I told them on phone: “My biggest enemy is poverty. I don’t want to live like this anymore.” Their customer care listened to me patiently. They didn’t laugh at my situation. Instead, they told me to come and meet them.

When we met, they explained that sometimes the battles we face in life are not ordinary. They performed some rituals for cleansing, then prepared for me a money and luck spell. They told me, “Your destiny is not to die in poverty. You were born to prosper.”

From that moment, my life began to take a different turn. Opportunities started opening up where I had never imagined. Within weeks, I got a call from a company in Nairobi offering me a position as a sergeant-at-arms at one of the malls in Eastleigh. I couldn’t believe it.

The job came with respect, a stable salary, and privileges I never thought someone like me could ever enjoy. They provided staff quarters in Karen, Nairobi.

Imagine me, a boy who once slept on streets, now waking up in a comfortable house in one of the most prestigious neighbourhoods in the city. They even provided a car for my duties.

Every time I drive through Karen roads, I remember the cold nights in Kisii and the pain of rejection from relatives. I realise that my life changed the day I humbled myself and reached out to Shaba Mangube Doctors. Their money and luck spells gave me the push I needed to step out of poverty and claim a future I thought was lost.

If you are reading this and you feel like life has cornered you, don’t lose hope. I know what it means to be at the bottom with no one to believe in you. Sometimes, all you need is the right intervention. For me, it was Shaba Mangube Doctors.
