“For 10 Years After Graduation, I Stayed Jobless Until I Did This To Get A Gov’t Job” Okello Tells

For many young people in Uganda, finishing school or university does not always lead to a quick job. Opportunities are few, and competition is very high. This was the painful reality for James Okello from Lira District, who graduated with a degree in Public Administration but spent almost ten years without a stable job. He tried applying to many organisations, attended countless interviews, and even relocated to Kampala in search of greener pastures, but nothing seemed to work. James says the frustration nearly broke him.

He narrates that during those years he lost confidence, his savings ran out, and his family started questioning his abilities. Friends who had studied with him had already secured jobs or started businesses, yet he kept receiving rejection letters. “I felt like I had been forgotten by life,” James recalls. He explains that at some point he even stopped checking job adverts because they only brought him disappointment.

It was during one of those low moments, while visiting his cousin in Mbale, that James heard about Shaba Mangube Doctors. His cousin told him that many people consult them for guidance, spiritual help, or counselling when life problems become too heavy. According to his cousin, some people believe that their methods, which include prayers, traditional rituals and what they call “spells”, can remove bad luck and open doors. James was sceptical at first, but he felt he had nothing to lose, so he asked for the contacts.

James says he received the number +254795613711 from his cousin and decided to call. He explains that what impressed him most was that he did not have to travel far; the consultation could be done over the phone and through messaging. The team listened to his story, offered some words of encouragement, and described a spiritual cleansing process which, they said, could be done remotely. “I followed all the instructions they gave me, including certain prayers and mindset exercises. I was also told to believe that my situation would change,” James narrates.

Within a few weeks of following their guidance, James says he started feeling calmer and more focused. He resumed job applications with a renewed spirit. In less than three months, he received an invitation for a government job interview in Gulu District. “I couldn’t believe it. After so many years, finally an interview call,” he recalls. James insists that his confidence during the interview was much higher than before. Two weeks later he received an appointment letter for a permanent position.

James is careful to say he cannot prove exactly how or why things turned around so suddenly. He believes that the guidance from Shaba Mangube Doctors, combined with his own renewed effort and prayers, helped him. “All I know is that after I spoke to them and followed their advice, my life started changing,” he says. “I am now working, supporting my family, and feeling proud again.”

He also explains that what surprised him most was that the entire process did not require him to travel physically. “Many people think you must be there in person, but they can still cast their blessings and guidance even if you are far away,” he notes. “I think that is very helpful for people who cannot easily travel.”

James advises other Ugandans who feel stuck to consider reaching out, but to do so with an open mind. “It is not about sitting back and doing nothing,” he adds. “You still have to apply for jobs, work on your skills, and pray. But sometimes you also need someone to guide you spiritually or motivate you when things seem blocked.”

Many people across Uganda and beyond call +254795613711 for consultations with Shaba Mangube Doctors. While everyone’s experience is different and no one can guarantee results, James says his own journey gave him hope. “If you are struggling like I was, do not lose hope. Help may come in ways you do not expect.
