For six long years, my life felt like a continuous struggle with disappointment. My name is Martin, and I come from Nakawa in Kampala. I graduated from Makerere University with a First Class Degree in Business Administration. The day I received my results, my family was overjoyed. Everyone believed I would succeed quickly because people with First Class degrees are usually considered top candidates. I also had high expectations. I imagined myself getting a well-paying job, supporting my family, and building a good life. But what followed after my graduation was completely different from what I had dreamed of.
I started applying for job after job. I sent out hundreds of applications to banks, NGOs, government institutions, and private companies. Some called me for interviews, and many interviewers praised me for my academic record. But the results were always the same: “You were not selected.” Months turned into years, and nothing seemed to work for me. I watched my former classmates get jobs, buy cars, start families, and build their lives, while I remained stuck in the same position with no progress at all. It felt like something invisible was blocking every opportunity that came my way.
By the third year, the situation had broken my confidence. I started questioning myself. I wondered why my excellent grades were not helping me. My relatives began suggesting that maybe I had bad luck or something was spiritually blocking my success. I did not know what to believe, but deep inside I felt like something was not right. I did small survival jobs—selling clothes, working at construction sites, helping friends with mobile money businesses—just to afford food and rent. It was painful seeing my potential wasted and my dreams slipping away.
My life took a new turn when I was introduced to Shaba Mangube traditional healers, a group many people quietly talk about for helping with life problems. I was told they use different types of spells—like luck spells, job-opening spells, and success spells—to help people whose progress is blocked. What surprised me most was that they could still help even if someone did not meet them physically. At first, I did not want to believe this, but after being jobless for six years, I had nothing more to lose. I got their contact from a man I met in Kireka who told me they helped him find employment after years of struggling.
When I reached out, they were calm and respectful. They asked me about my background, my goals, and the challenges I had been facing. After explaining everything, they told me they would perform a job-opening spell to unblock my opportunities. I followed every instruction they gave me. The process was simple and did not require traveling or anything complicated. I was honestly not expecting quick results because I had faced disappointment for so long, but deep down I hoped something would finally change.
Within a few days, I began feeling a shift in my life. It was not something physical, but I felt lighter and more hopeful than I had in a long time. One week later, something unexpected happened. A company I had applied to months earlier suddenly called me for an interview. During the interview, everything flowed smoothly. The panel was friendly, and I felt confident—something that had been missing for years. Two days later, I received the call that changed my life. They offered me the job. After six years of rejection, I finally had my breakthrough.
As if that was not enough, within the same week, two more companies sent me interview invitations. It felt like all the closed doors were suddenly opening at the same time. My confidence returned. I finally moved out of the small single room I had been surviving in and found a better place to live. I cleared my debts and even started helping my family financially. For the first time in many years, I felt proud of myself again.

I am sharing my story because I know many graduates in Uganda are suffering silently. Some of you have degrees, skills, and ambition, but no matter how hard you try, things just don’t seem to move. That is exactly how I felt for six painful years. If you are in a similar situation, I want you to know that change is possible. Sometimes all you need is a little spiritual push to open the opportunities that are blocked.
