For many years, I watched people around me buy cars while I continued jumping from boda boda to taxi every single day. My name is Paul, and I live in Nsambya, Kampala. I always dreamed of owning a car—not even a very expensive one, just something decent that could take me to work without dealing with unpredictable weather or long queues.
But life kept pushing that dream further away. No matter how hard I worked, the money never added up. Whenever I tried to save, something urgent would come up, and my little savings would disappear. Soon, buying a car started to feel like a dream meant for other people, not someone like me.
My friends used to laugh and say, “Paul, you have been talking about a car for years, when will you actually buy one?” Their jokes did not bother me on the outside, but inside, I felt ashamed. I had a steady job, yet financially I was always behind. I watched people I once helped get ahead of me, driving cars and improving their lives while I still hustled with the same struggles. Taxi fares kept increasing, and the cost of living in Kampala was getting worse. The frustration of standing at the roadside waiting for transport every morning became too much. Every time it rained, I would reach work soaked and embarrassed. I knew something was wrong, but I didn’t know what exactly was blocking my progress.
My breakthrough began the day I heard about Shaba Mangube traditional healers, a group known by many people in Uganda for helping with stubborn life challenges. A workmate told me they use different types of spells, such as money spells, luck spells, and financial–breakthrough spells, especially for people whose progress is stuck. At first, I wasn’t sure if this was something I should try, but after struggling for so many years, I decided I had nothing to lose. What shocked me most was that they could still help someone even without meeting physically. That gave me courage because I could continue with my life while they handled the spiritual part.
When I finally reached out, they asked me a few questions about my life, work, and the financial challenges I had been dealing with. I explained how I had been trying to save for a car for years but something always came up to swallow the money. They told me they would cast a money-opening spell to unblock my financial path. Their instructions were easy to follow and did not require traveling anywhere. I did everything they told me, hoping for even a small improvement. I did not expect fast results because I had struggled for a long time, but I kept an open mind.
Within a short period, things began to shift in ways I couldn’t explain. I started receiving opportunities that had never come my way before. My side business suddenly picked up. People who owed me money unexpectedly started paying back. I got a small allowance increase at work. Everything seemed to move in the right direction. It was as if money that had been blocked for years finally found its way to me. For the first time, I was able to save without interruption. No emergency came to drain my savings. I felt in control of my life again.
Before a month passed, something happened that changed everything. A friend who was relocating abroad offered to sell me his car at a very affordable price. The car was in excellent condition, and the amount he wanted was exactly what I had saved. I could not believe it. It felt like the opportunity had been waiting for me all along. Without wasting time, I bought the car. For the first time in my life, I drove home in my own vehicle. The feeling of finally owning a car—after so many years of struggle—cannot be explained in words. My neighbors congratulated me because they knew how long I had desired this.
My entire life changed. I no longer wake up early to catch taxis. Rain no longer stresses me. I can travel comfortably and at my own pace. My confidence has grown, and I feel like I have finally stepped into the life I always wanted. My family is proud of me, and I am proud of myself too. I realized that sometimes your progress is not blocked because you are lazy or unlucky; sometimes you simply need spiritual support to open your path.

I decided to share my story because I know many Ugandans are going through the same struggle. If you keep postponing your dreams, especially something like owning a car, nothing will change.
